ITC/Glencoe

Glencoe are a US company who, as far as I know, have not produced any of their own kits, but concentrate on reissuing rare + unusual kits from older, long-defunct manufacturers. All of their ship kits originate from the 1950s/60s US Ideal Toy Company (ITC). Although most are rather crude by today's standards, ITC's range of kits included some very interesting subjects, both civil and military, and most in large or largeish scales - and it's certainly good to have them available on shop shelves again.
ITC's ship kits included the Victorian steam yacht Corsair II, predreadnought battleship USS Oregon, a World War 1 USN 110' subchaser, a US Coast Guard lifeboat, the nuclear cargo ship Savannah, and the liners SS France and United States. They can all be built into excellent models with the addition of extra detail - in particular, I've seen numerous very impressive USS Oregon models built using the Tom's Modelworks or GMM etched brass detail sets.
